"The entries for this year’s August International edition of Fresh Paint Magazine were many and the decisions difficult. However, as I reviewed and re-examined my selections a few broad categories could be identified within the multitude of paintings. The artists who had submitted work were either concerned with (a) new ways of thinking about or working with paint, (b) layered, textural abstraction; (c) composed collages, or (d) figurative struggles with identity. The artists I ultimately selected for publication were those I felt best illustrated these categories while showing strong individual integrity in both style and technique."

For another year, this 18th Annual Judeo-Christian Juried Online International Art Exhibition has proven to be a very inspirational showcase of some of the finest works the gallery has been privileged to host. Following are comments about those pieces that are especially moving and technically impressive.
O. YEMI TUBI of Dagenham, Essex, United Kingdom has several outstanding oil paintings that speak about the life of the African people. "Hope for Africa 1" shows the drought and dying animals with the mother and child with empty bowls, yet there is a sense of hope in the middle ground imagery. "Hope for Africa 2", "Peace in Our Time-Arab", "Peace in Our Time-Eagle" and "Peace in Our Time-Syria" all have imagery that's worth a thousand words. These are all very great heartfelt works!

We are very pleased to inform you that Hunger in the Land of Plenty has been selected as one of eighty artworks from Paris base to participate in the final round of Art Olympia Competition 2015 in Tokyo. We collected 4,173 artworks from 2,838 artists from the world, and as for Paris base, we received 486 artworks from 298 artists. All of the artworks impressed the jurors very much, so you cannot imagine how challenging it was for even experienced jurors to select eighty pieces from such an extensive pool. Congratulations!

O YEMI TUBI of Dagenham, Essex, United Kingdom presents a work entitled “The Bleeding Roses”. The amazing handling of the Christ figure and the other devoted characters with all the rich colors in the foreground as if lit up with the darker and desaturated sky and background make for a wonderfully expressive oil on canvas.
DINA BOVA of Petach Tiqwa, Israel has a unique approach to expression. His striking work “Quaere Veritatem - Seek Truth” shows an intense balancing situation with followers holding on to the leader who has fire in hand but with a blindfold that seems rather concealing. The work “Spheres of Unconditional Love” bespeaks of the Madonna and Child...

Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize 2015 - shortlist announced
International law firm Ashurst and Oaktree & Tiger Gallery are pleased to announce the 25 artists short listed for the Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize 2015.
Out of more than 600 artworks entered by over 270 artists, the short list includes artists from Europe, South America, Iran, China, South Africa, North and Central America who are working across sculpture, digital, painting, photography and many more styles.
